Loosing a child, one of the hardest things I've had to face!
Updated: Jun 27, 2020
As a parent, we do not expect to bury our child, we look forward to seeing our children grow up, getting married, giving us grand babies and growing older. Our roles remaining fix but our seasons changing from parental to adult friends and making memories of a life time together. So what's happens when this role is reversed and we find ourselves burying a child or our children?
The Presence, Peace & Comfort of God!
I can honestly say, I do not know what I would have done, and I'am not sure where I would be without Christ in my life! Having the peace of God that surpasses all understanding being so tangible and real for me through it all has made all the difference through the lost of my first born child, Brandy Nicole, one who was so much like me and brought so much joy and delight to my soul! I am also grateful for the prayers of family, loved ones and Saints they helped to carry me through. In my wildest imaginations I would never dreamed that I would need to prepare for this, this was not suppose to be a part of my journey, no way could I've see this coming! It's one of those things that others may have experienced or had to deal with, but not me, no, not in my wildest dreams!
Well, it's been nine years now, January 5, 2011. It gets a little easier, but the pain of lost never really leaves... And when those times become unbearable I can hear a small still voice reminding me, " And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words."
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
So I want to encourage those of you who have lost loved ones, that our Father God has given us a comforter, He is the Holy Spirit, and He will surround you with peace and comfort. He will remind you that as a Believers, we have a future and a hope and we will see our loved ones again. For those of you who are uncertain, those who have yet to place your hope and trust in Jesus Christ, I like to invite you to do so now. Romans 10: 9-10, says, if you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. (Yes, it's just that simple, by confessing in faith and believing in your heart, you have now been accepted in the family of God). Welcome to the family of God!
We are here for you, how can we come along side to encourage you? How can we pray for you?
